- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Steam broccoli until tender (3–4 mins), then finely chop or pulse in a food processor.
- In a large bowl, mix broccoli, cheese, Parmesan, egg, panko, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form mixture into small tot-shaped cylinders (about 1.5 inches long).
- Place on baking sheet and brush tops lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
- Bake 12–14 minutes, flip, then bake 5–7 minutes more until golden and crisp.
- Cool 3–5 minutes before serving.

- For gluten-free: use gluten-free panko and certified GF flour.
- Dairy-free option: swap cheese for nutritional yeast and vegan cheddar.
- Advanced: freeze uncooked tots on tray, then transfer to bag—bake frozen, adding 3–5 minutes to cook time.
