- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and egg, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Scoop dough balls onto the tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- For longer storage, freeze baked cookies for up to 3 months.
- To soften cookies, reduce flour or add an extra egg yolk.
