Ingredients
Scale
- For the Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- For the White Garlic Pizza Sauce:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- For the Toppings:
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh basil leaves or Italian herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix flour and salt in another bowl. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, knead until smooth. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, salt, and pepper; bring to a gentle simmer. Add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to a 12-inch round. Place on a pizza stone or lined baking sheet.
- Evenly spread the white garlic sauce on the dough, top with mozzarella cheese, and add basil leaves if desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven for best results, ensuring the cheese is melted and the crust is crisp again.
- Pair with a side salad or dipping sauce for an enhanced dining experience.
