Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and stir in chocolate chips and chopped nuts if desired.
- Drop dollops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
