  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix mashed bananas and melted butter.
  3. Stir in sugar, egg, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Sprinkle in baking soda and salt; mix in.
  5. Fold in flour and cocoa powder until just combined—do not overmix.
  6. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan. Smooth top.
  8. Bake 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean (some cocoa streaks are fine).
