Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups fresh figs, sliced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup unsalted pistachios, roasted and chopped
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: edible flowers or mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preparing the Tart Crust: Combine flour, powdered sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl. Add cold, cubed butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in vanilla extract and cold water gradually until dough forms. Wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Blind Baking the Crust: Roll out dough on a floured surface to fit your tart pan. Press into pan, prick the base, line with parchment paper, and fill with baking beans. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes, remove weights, then bake additional 10 minutes until golden.
- Preparing the Filling: Spread a thin layer of honey on the cooled crust. Arrange sliced figs evenly, drizzle more honey, sprinkle roasted chopped pistachios, and add edible flowers or mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the tart crust is chilled before baking for optimal flakiness.
- Use ripe figs for the best flavor and texture.
- Reheat slightly before serving for a warm, comforting dessert.
