- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1 large egg
- Optional: Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sourdough discard, sugar, salt, melted butter, warm milk, and egg. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, shape each into a ball, and place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Cover and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Freeze rolls in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months; reheat in the oven to restore freshness.
