Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for the best flavor)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of American cheese
- Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for toppings
- Pickles (optional)
- For the smash burger sauce:
- ยฝ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients, ensuring the use of high-quality ground beef and fresh toppings. Divide ground beef into 4 equal balls and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Heat your Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the griddle and smash them down flat. Sear for about 3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
- Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Remove patties and place them on toasted buns. Spread homemade smash burger sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, and onions, then place the patty on top. Optional: create smash burger tacos using taco shells.
Notes
- Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Uncooked beef balls can be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the refrigerator before use.
- Pair smash burgers with crispy fries, onion rings, or coleslaw for the perfect meal.
