Discover the ultimate Blackstone smash burger recipe that creates a juicy and flavorful delight with a perfect sear and melt-in-your-mouth cheese. This recipe is ideal for family gatherings and BBQs, ensuring a memorable culinary experience.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for the best flavor)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 slices of American cheese
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for toppings
  • Pickles (optional)
  • For the smash burger sauce:
  • ยฝ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients, ensuring the use of high-quality ground beef and fresh toppings. Divide ground beef into 4 equal balls and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat your Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the griddle and smash them down flat. Sear for about 3 minutes until a golden crust forms.
  3. Flip the patties and immediately place a slice of American cheese on top. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  4. Remove patties and place them on toasted buns. Spread homemade smash burger sauce on the bottom bun, add lettuce, tomato, and onions, then place the patty on top. Optional: create smash burger tacos using taco shells.

Notes

  • Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Uncooked beef balls can be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the refrigerator before use.
  • Pair smash burgers with crispy fries, onion rings, or coleslaw for the perfect meal.
