Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large ripe peaches, sliced
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry or homemade buttery crust
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- Coarse sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preparing the Dough: Roll out your pastry into a 12-inch circle and transfer it onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Making the Peach Filling: In a bowl, combine sliced peaches with sugar, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Toss gently to coat evenly.
- Assembling the Galette: Pile the peach filling in the center of the dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold the edges over the filling, pleating as needed. Brush the crust with beaten egg and drizzle with melted butter. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Baking: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 40-45 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use ripe peaches for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- Thaw frozen peaches and drain excess moisture before using.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgence.
- Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in an oven to restore crispiness.
- You can substitute dairy crust with vegan or gluten-free options as needed.
