Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry sheets (preferably homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ricotta cheese or mascarpone
- Fresh fruit or berries for garnish (optional)
- Confectioners’ sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll the puff pastry sheets and cut into strips about 1 inch wide. Wrap these strips around cookie molds or metal cones and bake until golden brown. Set aside to cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta or mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cheese for a creamy, luscious filling.
- Once cooled, carefully remove the pastry shells from the molds. Fill a piping bag with the cream filling and pipe into each pastry shell generously.
- Dust with powdered sugar or top with fresh berries. Optionally, drizzle melted chocolate or caramel for an extra touch. Serve immediately for peak freshness.
Notes
- Ensure the puff pastry shells are completely cooled before filling to prevent sogginess.
- Fill just before serving to keep the shells crispy.
- For an enriched flavor, add lemon zest or chopped nuts to the cream filling.
