This Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza Recipe, inspired by Pizza Hut, combines spicy pepperoni, gooey mozzarella, and a sweet drizzle of hot honey for a delightful flavor experience. Perfect for gatherings or a cozy dinner at home.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Yield: 2 pizzas 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 12 tablespoons hot honey (to taste)
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing to form a dough.
  3. Once the dough has risen (about 1 hour), preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  4. Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet and spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface.
  5. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by pepperoni slices, adding crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling. Drizzle hot honey over the top before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
  • Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
  • For a vegan option, substitute mozzarella with vegan cheese and use plant-based pepperoni.
