Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1–2 tablespoons hot honey (to taste)
- Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, mixing to form a dough.
- Once the dough has risen (about 1 hour), preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet and spread tomato sauce evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by pepperoni slices, adding crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling. Drizzle hot honey over the top before serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
- For a vegan option, substitute mozzarella with vegan cheese and use plant-based pepperoni.
