  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz of lo mein or egg noodles
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • For the Sauce:
    • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
    • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same skillet. Stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet with broccoli. Pour in the sauce ingredients, add the cooked noodles, and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Thinly slice the beef against the grain for tenderness.
  • Marinate the beef briefly in soy and cornstarch for extra flavor and tenderness.
  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
  • Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste, adding more soy or hoisin as preferred.
  • For best results, rinse cooked noodles with cold water to prevent sticking before stir-frying.
