Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz of lo mein or egg noodles
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- For the Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same skillet. Stir-fry garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Return the beef to the skillet with broccoli. Pour in the sauce ingredients, add the cooked noodles, and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to meld flavors.
- Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish. Serve hot.
Notes
- Thinly slice the beef against the grain for tenderness.
- Marinate the beef briefly in soy and cornstarch for extra flavor and tenderness.
- You can add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for variety.
- Adjust the sauce ingredients to taste, adding more soy or hoisin as preferred.
- For best results, rinse cooked noodles with cold water to prevent sticking before stir-frying.
