- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tbsp milk, and a pinch of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and the egg.
- Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just blended.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity halfway.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool.
- In a small bowl, combine powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Once cooled, dip the tops of the donuts in the glaze and allow excess to drip off.
Notes
- Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Unglazed donuts can be frozen for up to 2 months.
- Personalize your glaze with food coloring or other flavor extracts if desired.
