Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups milk (for pudding)
- 1 prepared batch of classic butter cobbler crumble
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently and let sit for about 15 minutes to create a juicy syrup.
- Prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package instructions, using 2 cups of milk. Once thickened, allow it to cool in the refrigerator.
- Begin layering your trifle dish with a layer of fresh peaches at the bottom. Add a layer of vanilla pudding, followed by a layer of buttery cobbler crumble. Repeat these layers until the dish is filled, finishing with a cobbler crumble layer on top.
- Optional: Garnish with whipped cream and additional fresh peach slices before serving.
Notes
- Use canned peaches if fresh are unavailable; drain well and adjust sugar as needed.
- Chill the assembled trifle for at least 1-2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
- Add whipped cream just before serving to keep its texture fresh.
- This recipe can be assembled a day in advance for convenience.
