Indulge in these Healthy & Fudgy Low-Calorie Greek Yogurt Brownies, a nutritious twist on classic brownies packed with protein, fiber, and rich chocolate flavor. Perfect for guilt-free desserts, they are easy to make and deliciously fudgy with the health benefits of Greek yogurt.

  • Total Time: 35-40 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ¾ cup honey or pure maple syrup (for sweetness)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup whole spelt flour or almond flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts for toppings

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  3. If desired, fold in dark chocolate chips or sprinkle them on top of the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • For added flavor, include dark chocolate chips or chopped nuts on top before baking.
  • These brownies store well in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or chilled for up to 7 days. Freeze for longer storage up to 3 months.
  • You can replace Greek yogurt with applesauce for a dairy-free variation, but it may slightly change the texture.
