Instructions
- Activate yeast by mixing with warm water and a pinch of sugar; let it foam for 5-10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, vanilla, eggs, and the activated yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour and salt, kneading until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Allow dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut into donut shapes.
- Fry donuts in hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side, then drain on paper towels.
- Once cooled, coat with colored icing or glaze and decorate with sprinkles and themed toppings.
