Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of butterscotch chips
- 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- Optional: Whipped cream and extra butterscotch sauce for topping
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the butterscotch chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter, and salt. Stir gently until melted and well-mixed.
- Gradually increase the heat to medium, stirring constantly, and allow to bubble gently for about 5 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla extract, and pour the mixture into a parchment-lined baking pan, smoothing the top. Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate until set (around 2 hours).
- Once chilled, cut into squares, and optionally top with whipped cream and butterscotch sauce before serving.
Notes
- Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
- Allow refrigerated fudge to come to room temperature before serving for the best texture.
