Indulge in the enchanting world of baking with our delightful Golden Snitch Rolls topped with rich and creamy Butterscotch Cream Cheese Frosting. These whimsical pastries are bursting with flavor, making them the perfect treat for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 12 rolls 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Rolls:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet of active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • For the Butterscotch Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butterscotch sauce
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Start by foaming the yeast in warm milk. Combine 1 packet of active dry yeast and 1/2 cup warm milk in a bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth and elastic, about 8–10 minutes.
  3. Once kneaded, roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar. Roll the dough tightly into a log, slice it into pieces, and place them on a baking tray.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Let the rolls rise for about 30 minutes and then bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool before frosting.
  5. While the rolls are baking, prepare the Butterscotch Cream Cheese Frosting by beating 8 oz of softened cream cheese and gradually adding 1/2 cup of butterscotch sauce, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  6. Once the rolls have cooled, generously spread the Butterscotch Cream Cheese Frosting on each roll. Optionally, drizzle additional butterscotch sauce on top.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • You can use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend as a substitute for all-purpose flour.
  • Freeze the rolls before or after baking; thaw overnight in the fridge when ready to enjoy.
  • To make them less sweet, reduce the amount of sugar in the dough and frosting.
