Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 packets of instant yeast
- 2 cups warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Your favorite focaccia toppings (herbs, vegetables, cheeses, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Gradually add flour, salt, and olive oil while stirring to build a soft, slightly sticky dough.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Transfer the dough to a greased focaccia pan, stretching and pressing it to fit. Create deep dimples with your fingers.
- Add your favorite toppings, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before slicing and enjoy your focaccia!
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- You can freeze focaccia by wrapping it tightly in plastic wrap and sealing it in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
