Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup peach butter (store-bought or homemade)
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour in buttermilk and vanilla, stirring just until a soft dough forms.
- Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between biscuits.
- Use a spoon to make a shallow well in the center of each dough ball and spoon 1/2 tsp peach butter into the well.
- Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
Notes
- For extra richness, swap half the butter for brown butter.
- Make your own peach butter by simmering peaches with lemon juice and cinnamon until thickened.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days—reheat in the oven for best texture.
