Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let it sit until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and cinnamon.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a touch of nutmeg or orange zest to the dough.
- Ensure milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast.
