- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups M&Ms (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl
- Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes)
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well after each addition
- Gradually add dry ingredients on low speed until just combined
- Press â…” of dough into prepared pan, sprinkle with 1 cup M&Ms
- Crumble remaining dough over top and add remaining ½ cup M&Ms
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden but still soft in center
- Cool completely in pan before cutting into bars
