Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe peaches or 1 cup of peach puree
- 4 cups of water
- 4 black or green tea bags
- ½ cup of honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Start by washing and peeling the peaches. For a smoother texture, blend the peaches into a puree using a blender or food processor. Alternatively, slice them thinly for added texture.
- Bring the 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the tea bags for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your preferred strength. Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
- Combine the peach puree or sliced peaches with the cooled tea in a pitcher. Add honey or sugar while the tea is still warm, stirring until fully dissolved.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Fill glasses with ice, pour the chilled sweet peach tea over the ice, and garnish with fresh mint leaves or peach slices. Serve immediately for maximum freshness and flavor.
Notes
- Select ripe peaches for the richest flavor; canned or frozen peaches work as substitutes out of season.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or sugar according to your taste.
- For vegan options, replace honey with agave or maple syrup.
- Experiment with different teas such as white or herbal teas for diverse flavor profiles.
