- 1 (18 oz) bottle your favorite barbecue sauce
- 1 cup water or chicken broth (optional for extra tenderness)
Instructions
- Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Pour barbecue sauce evenly over chicken.
- Cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until chicken shreds easily with a fork.
- Shred chicken directly in the crockpot with two forks, stirring to coat in sauce.
- Serve warm on buns, over rice, or with your favorite sides.
Notes
- For extra depth, add 1 tsp smoked paprika or 1/2 tsp garlic powder to the sauce before adding.
- Leftovers keep well for 3–4 days refrigerated and freeze beautifully.
- Top with chopped pickles, red onion, or fresh cilantro for brightness.
