Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef
- 12 ounces (340g) pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (120g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente. Drain, reserving a small amount of pasta water.
- In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to low. Pour in heavy cream and stir. Add Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly. Use reserved pasta water if needed to thin the sauce.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing gently to coat. Adjust seasoning as desired. Garnish with parsley or basil and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute heavy cream with light cream or Greek yogurt.
- Enhance nutrition by adding vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
- Avoid overcooking pasta to maintain perfect texture—al dente is best for mixing into sauce.
