Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- Optional toppings: sour cream, chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeños, salsa
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the diced onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes to blend flavors.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place tortillas on a baking sheet and lightly spray with cooking spray. Toast for 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden.
- Spread seasoned ground beef on each toasted tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, and optional toppings. Serve immediately for maximum crispiness.
Notes
- Store leftovers separately in airtight containers. Reheat beef in a skillet or microwave and re-crisp tortillas in the oven. Assemble just before serving to maintain crunch and freshness.
- Feel free to customize toppings or substitute ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based crumbles for a vegetarian option.
