  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  5. Fold in blueberries gently to distribute evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan, then spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter. Top with remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar and a little water or lemon juice.

Notes

  • Use fresh blueberries for best flavor; frozen blueberries can be used but may bleed color.
  • To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar with a teaspoon of water or lemon juice for a thinner or thicker drizzle.
