  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground deer meat
  • 1 pound ground elk meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Cheese slices (optional)
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your choice of condiments

Instructions

  1. Combine ground deer and elk meat in a large bowl and add breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into equal-sized, 1-inch thick patties and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
  4. Transfer cooked patties to toasted burger buns and top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and condiments of your choice.

Notes

  • Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or 3 months in the freezer.
  • For best reheating results, grill or pan-fry the patties.
  • Pair the burgers with crispy fries or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
