Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh cheese curds (or frozen cheese curds)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil spray (for a crispy finish)
Instructions
- Prepare the cheese curds by making sure fresh ones are ready or thawing and patting dry the frozen ones.
- In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; coat each curd in this mixture.
- Dip each floured curd into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Coat the egg-dipped cheese curds in breadcrumbs, pressing gently for even coverage.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and spray the basket with olive oil.
- Arrange cheese curds in the basket without overcrowding; spray the tops with olive oil.
- Cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 3-4 minutes to return crispiness.
- For spicier curds, add cayenne or hot sauce to the breadcrumb mix.
- Gluten-free breadcrumbs can be used for a gluten-free version.
