- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Salt to taste
- Marshmallows for topping
- Chopped pecans for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then drain and mash.
- Mix mashed sweet potatoes with butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with marshmallows and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until marshmallows are golden and the casserole is heated through.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or ginger.
