- 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 (9-ounce) package refrigerated tortellini
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add tortellini and cook until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return sausage to the pot. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 5 minutes until heated through. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

- You can substitute turkey sausage for a leaner option.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free tortellini or omit the pasta.
