- 4 lbs bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks
- 2 large onions, diced

- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil

Instructions
- Start by seasonings the chicken with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken until golden brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the diced onions and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in the Hungarian sweet paprika (and smoked paprika if using), stirring constantly to prevent burning. This releases aromatic oils and deepens flavor.
- Return the seared chicken to the pan. Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Cover and simmer on low for 30-40 minutes until the chicken is tender.
- In a small bowl, mix sour cream with flour. Stir this mixture into the simmering chicken to create a creamy sauce. Cook for another 5-10 minutes until thickened.
- Adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot over boiled potatoes, buttered noodles, or crusty bread.
