Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (450g) ground beef
- 12 ounces (340g) pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and chop the onion and garlic. Measure out the cream and cheese.
- Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add uncooked pasta to the beef mixture. Pour in enough water or broth to just cover the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente and liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan, and diced tomatoes. Mix until the sauce is creamy and coats the pasta evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot and enjoy a hearty, satisfying meal in one pot.
Notes
- For an even creamier sauce, stir in a dollop of cream cheese or mascarpone near the end of cooking.
- Enhance flavor with sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
- Use fresh herbs for vibrant flavor and garnish.
