  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 12 ounces (340g) pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and chop the onion and garlic. Measure out the cream and cheese.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large, deep skillet or pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add uncooked pasta to the beef mixture. Pour in enough water or broth to just cover the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  4. Stir in heavy cream, grated Parmesan, and diced tomatoes. Mix until the sauce is creamy and coats the pasta evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot and enjoy a hearty, satisfying meal in one pot.

Notes

  • For an even creamier sauce, stir in a dollop of cream cheese or mascarpone near the end of cooking.
  • Enhance flavor with sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms.
  • Use fresh herbs for vibrant flavor and garnish.
