- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (dark or milk, as preferred)
Instructions
- Mix one cup of sourdough starter with two and a half cups of all-purpose flour and one cup of warm water in a large bowl. Stir until well combined, then let it sit for about 30 minutes.
- Add one teaspoon of salt to the dough mixture and knead until smooth. Place in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 4-6 hours.
- Once risen, gently fold in half a cup of chocolate chips into the dough, ensuring even distribution.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased bread pan. Cover with a damp cloth and allow it to proof for another 2-3 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Store in a paper bag at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, slice and freeze for up to 3 months.
- This bread can be enjoyed plain, as toast, or in sandwiches.
