Scale
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and vegetable oil until well mixed.
- Sift all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl and gradually mix into the wet ingredients to form cookie dough.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C), scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto lined baking sheets, and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are slightly undercooked.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- For longer storage, freeze baked cookies tightly wrapped for up to three months.

- Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture.
- Avoid overbaking for chewy cookies; remove them when centers look undercooked.
