  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • Optional toppings: sautéed onions and peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onions, diced bell peppers, and minced garlic.
  3. Add breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the mixture and combine.
  4. Transfer the mix onto a baking sheet, shape into a loaf, and make an indent in the center for cheese.
  5. Fill the indent with shredded provolone cheese and optionally add sautéed onions and peppers.
  6. Bake for 45-55 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
