- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- Optional toppings: sautéed onions and peppers
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onions, diced bell peppers, and minced garlic.
- Add breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper to the mixture and combine.
- Transfer the mix onto a baking sheet, shape into a loaf, and make an indent in the center for cheese.
- Fill the indent with shredded provolone cheese and optionally add sautéed onions and peppers.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Notes
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, freeze slices wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.
