Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 ½ cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup red onion, thinly sliced
- ⅓ cup cilantro, chopped
- Olive oil for brushing
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface until approximately 12 inches in diameter.
- Spread a generous layer of BBQ sauce over the rolled-out dough, leaving an inch of crust uncoated. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Layer the shredded cooked chicken on top of the cheese, followed by the remaining mozzarella, sliced red onions, and a drizzle of additional BBQ sauce.
- Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone, brush the crust with olive oil, and bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes until crispy and bubbly.
Notes
- Store leftover pizza by allowing it to cool completely, then wrap it in plastic wrap or foil, or place slices in an airtight container.
- The pizza can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
- For serving, pair with a garden salad or coleslaw for a crunchy contrast.
