  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 4 large flour tortillas or taco shells
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • Optional extras: sliced jalapeños, sour cream, salsa, or guacamole for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Mix in taco seasoning and water, then cook until thickened. Add diced onions, tomatoes, and cilantro.
  2. Lay a tortilla flat, add 2-3 tbsp of meat mixture in the center. Top with shredded cheese and additional fillings if desired. Fold or roll to form a neat bundle or bomb shape.
  3. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly oil. Place the assembled taco bombs seam-side down. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C). Cook the taco bombs for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
  5. Allow to cool slightly. Garnish with cilantro, jalapeños, or sour cream. Serve with salsa or guacamole for a complete snack.

Notes

  • Use fresh tortillas to prevent tearing.
  • Seal edges well to prevent filling leakage.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your air fryer’s size for optimal crispiness.
  • Try different fillings like beans or bell peppers for variety.
