Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, lobster meat)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, or Parmesan)
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: a dash of hot sauce or lemon juice for extra zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant—about 1 minute.
- Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in half of the shredded cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice if desired.
- Gently fold in the seafood, ensuring all pieces are coated with the sauce. Cook for 3-4 minutes until just cooked through.
- Transfer the seafood mixture into the prepared baking dish. Mix the remaining cheese with bread crumbs and sprinkle evenly on top.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbling.
Notes
- Allow the gratin to cool before storing in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave, avoiding overcooking to maintain seafood tenderness.
- Customize with different cheeses, or add spices like red pepper flakes or hot sauce for variation.
